First aid courses

At Helping Haiti, community development means listening to our community and responding to their needs and visions for the future.

With the guidance of our community, we run a 20-day intensive first aid course for community members from 10 different areas of Cité Soleil. We run this course out of our clinic space to provide a safe environment for all. Participants have learned basic and emergency first aid techniques including wound care, management of serious injuries and CPR.

Through training people from around Cité Soleil, we are able to provide a service that creates a ripple effect of life-saving skills through the community and by the hands of the community.
